Norseman Mine Site — Remote Wi-Fi Expansion

Delion was engaged to extend internet connectivity to 16 new accommodation rooms at the Norseman mine site. The new infrastructure needed to integrate seamlessly with the site's existing Starlink-backed network while delivering reliable in-room connectivity in a remote-site environment.

The challenge

What needed fixing.

  • The remote mine site required dependable Wi-Fi coverage across newly added accommodation without disrupting the existing network infrastructure.
  • The solution needed to work effectively within the limitations of a remote-site environment and make use of the existing Starlink connection.

Our solution

What we designed and installed.

  • Extended the existing network to the new accommodation area.
  • Installed 16 dedicated wireless access points — one access point per room for consistent individual coverage.
  • Integrated the new infrastructure with the site's existing Starlink network backbone.

The outcome

What changed after handover.

The completed installation extended reliable internet access across all 16 new rooms, providing workers with consistent connectivity while making full use of the site's existing Starlink infrastructure. The solution also provides a straightforward foundation for future network expansion as the site continues to develop.
